Many traits that you might think “you are” are simply the result of poor conditioning.
Beliefs of yourself that comes from your habits.
Let me explain.
Let’s say you think:
“I’m naturally shy around people”
“I'm simply boring”, etc..
Believing this, and labeling/framing it that way, you keep acting according to that belief you hold of yourself
Simply put, it fucks you up.
Because any effort you make towards not being/ becoming shy is according to you not only UNNATURAL, but also POINTLESS.
Like you’d be fighting your very own NATURE.
FORGET THAT.
Try this instead: “ My lack of exposure/ self-esteem made me uncomfortable around people.”
Get the difference?
You have a problem. Means you also have a solution.
It shifted from some curse to a “deficit” you CAN and WILL fix.
Fact is, you are not X, Y, Z. You’ve just made some traits part of your IDENTITY, when in reality they are NOT.
Rewrite the script.
You’re not shy, you’re just bad at socializing.
Pay close attention to the words you use to identify yourself.
Don’t let them stop you from changing habits, and improving your deficits.
